[01] // ABOUT

Soundevice Studio is a professional recording studio in Prague, offering a creative and relaxed space where musicians can record with the comfort needed to achieve the best possible quality.

What sets Soundevice apart: first, the sound of our live room — acoustically designed to the highest standard, offering a warm yet clear tone that inspires performance. Second, and just as important, are the people who work here — active, experienced musicians who understand what brings real emotion into music, backed by technical skill proven across countless recordings and awards.

And then there's the gear. Soundevice holds one of the most complete collections of vintage recording equipment in Europe — rare tube microphones, original Neve, EMI and Telefunken preamps, and classic outboard FX. It's a fully analogue signal path built from instruments that simply can't be emulated, and it's what makes the Soundevice sound impossible to fake.

Third is our uncommon collection of high-end vintage analog and digital gear — especially microphones — that helps us achieve the expensive, velvety, wide sound you know only from the best international recordings. The studio sits in a quiet location almost in the centre of Prague, easily reached by public transport, with parking directly outside — a rarity in this city.

[04] // TEAM
Boris Carloff
Boris Carloff
Owner / Head Engineer / Producer

Boris Carloff is a multi-award-winning producer and a defining figure on the Czech music scene, bridging musicianship with the technical craft of modern production. Originally a classically trained violinist, he moved into music production and experimental sound, combining vintage analogue instruments with modern technology. His distinctive signature and cross-genre range have made him one of the best-known Czech producers, working with leading Czech and international artists such as David Koller, Kryštof and Debbi, and internationally with Steve Albini, Bjorn Thorsrud, Cardiac Move and others.

Adam Pakosta
Adam Pakosta
Engineer / Producer

Adam Pakosta is a sound engineer with 13 years of experience, during which he has worked on dozens of recordings — from spoken word and classical music through jazz and pop to punk and metal. He also studied violin at the Prague Conservatory, so he knows the microphone both from the engineer's side and the musician's. He loves good coffee, and his speciality is creating a creative, relaxed atmosphere during recording. Little-known fact: he goes to the "ear gym" every day. Besides recording, mixing and mastering, he also enjoys teaching young engineers — he started in the studio himself as a "teaboy" with no experience in sound engineering.

Igor Ochepovsky
Igor Ochepovsky
Engineer / Producer

Igor Ochepovsky is a Ural native — guitarist, composer and producer — who has lived in Prague since 2010. He studied jazz guitar and classical composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. He is the founder and frontman of the Ochepovsky Project and also works as a session musician. As a producer he collaborates with Gabriela Heclová, Klára Vytisková, Ewa Farna, ILÆY, Anna Julia Slováčková and Vesná. Among other things, he composes stage music (Losers Cirque Company) and teaches music production.

Tomáš Jochmann
Tomáš Jochmann
Engineer / Producer

Ever since his studies at the Prague Conservatory, Tomáš Jochmann has been a regular at prestigious international jazz workshops in Italy — Tuscia in Jazz, the Barry Harris Workshop and Ronciglione Jazz Spring — counting jazz greats among his teachers: Kenny Barron, Barry Harris, Aaron Parks, Dave Kikoski, Dado Moroni and Antonio Ciacca. Over his career in the Czech Republic he has become one of the most distinguished and sought-after accompanists for singers, in jazz and beyond, and has performed in Switzerland, Germany, Egypt, Taiwan and Vietnam. His talent has taken him to the stage alongside the likes of Kurt Rosenwinkel, Rosario Giuliani, Justin Faulkner and many others.
